I have never played fortnite. I don’t know what that game is. I don’t know its concept and I definitely don’t know any of its characters. So for someone like me, and definitely a lot more out there, this Marvel Fortnite crossover came across as an unexpected project. So was it worth the price and effort? Let’s dissect.

For an epic crossover between two billion dollar franchises, it sure needed an amazing artwork. That is exactly what you get in this 5 part mini series. The whole world of Fortnite has been presented in a strikingly beautiful way. This transition from Video game animation to Comic artwork looks spellbinding. Especially the panels depicting the harsh environment of the ice moon look amazingly captivating. The action sequences create an adrenalin pumping experience in your brain. You can literally feel the set pieces move because of the quality of artwork.
Story
To write a miniseries in such a way that even those not aware, with the legend of the fortnite, end up reading this in one go is a testimonial to the writing prowess of Gage and Mustard. The world of fortnite has been introduced in such a way that even a casual reader can enjoy this story. The backstory of fortnite has been merged seamlessly with the marvel universe. The team ups of Avengers and X-mens with the superhero protectors of fortnite realm feels organic and not forced. The dialogues are crisp, the emotions are point on and the witty one liners of Spiderman are just spidey. Even the romantic angle between Wolverine and Imagined feels natural.
The story gives a big end of the world feel with high stakes and the pacing is perfect to contain the story in 5 parts. The story does feel a little confusing in the first couple pages, but then the writer eases you in and finally punches the acceleration on this fun ride.
