Disclaimer – I received this comic book/graphic novel as a review copy, thanks to my friend Rajat Mishra. So as a reviewer, it was a dilemma whether I should be honest with my review or feel obliged, for receiving a free copy. At the end, I chose not to perform an act of hell and hence comes this the dissection.

Artwork
I have heard it from multiple sources that the artwork of this comic book / graphic novel is created using AI. Now I am not sure whether this is true or not, but looking at the artwork it does feel like computer generated. This artwork is kind of a mixed bag with certain frames looking really cool but when it comes to the faces, the consistency is missing. Akram Khan Bakhtoni is looking like an Italian farmer in one frame and like a Mexican warlord in another. The same goes for Narkrow who is clean shaven in one and bearded in another frame. Even the design of the lighter is varying frame to frame. So, this might be an experiment but it does not work for me.
Story
I should say that there is hardly a complete story in this. It is just one minor act of a long story. We learn nothing of value about Narkrow. There is no hook to keep you invested in its future installments. Being brutally honest, Narkrow appears to be a knock off of Incognito. The similarities are so uncanny that we can rename it Incognito : Chapter 0 and correct the imbalance in the world.
Final Verdict
Was this an experimental book? If yes, then it will surely go down as a failed one. Low on content, low on entertainment, low on originality and high on pricing. It is one package to be strictly avoided, unless you get a reviewer’s copy.
